Best vacation of my life

My boyfriend and I stayed at Susan and Mark’s condo right on Sapphire Beach for about 8 nights. It was the best vacation of my life. We went to St Thomas expecting to go on tons of adventures; hiking, fishing, sailing, parasailing, etc. However, we ended up spending most days sitting in the sun drinking some cold drinks by the pool and beach (both were about 40 feet from our patio) or relaxing on the patio playing board games and listing to music. We met some really cool people out by the pool and our neighbors were awesome as well. We were perfectly content spending time moseying about the condo and the resort but the days we got out and explored were equally amazing. We did some incredible snorkeling, spent a day at Coral World (A MUST FOR ALL AGES) where we swam with a sea turtle named Duncan, and we went bar hopping… a lot! For a couple of 23 year olds the happy hours around St John were to die for, we spent 2 full day bar hopping on St John. We got everything we wanted out of this trip and this condo was such a huge part of our happiness. The kitchen was perfect; we cooked for ourselves most of the time and saved a lot of money not going out to eat. The shower/bathroom had everything we needed. The bed was huge and comfortable. The wifi made it possible for us to play music through Pandora 24/7. Although we spent most of our time outside, it was really nice to have cable for those nights that we couldn’t sleep. The only thing I would change about his condo is the amount of nights we stayed… I wish we could have stayed way longer. I actually shed some tears while we were packing up to leave. I would definitely recommend this condo for anyone that is looking for a relaxing vacation or some fun adventures. It’s a great condo for anyone of all ages! It’s literally perfect. We are coming back for sure! Thank you Susan and Mark!

Great vacation

We stayed here for two weeks in January and loved it. The condo is well equipped and had everything we needed. View is amazing. Quiet location steps from the water, pool and marina. I didn't snorkel directly in front of the condo because of the rocks, but others did and said it was great. Snorkeling from the beach in front of the A building was good too. Red Hook is only a mile away and has lots of great restaurants. We went to St John one day, but next time I will leave the car on St Thomas and just do a taxi on St John. We are already talking about going back!

Beachfront memories

My wife and I stayed at Three Palms condo for a week. We found the condo to be everything that was advertised and more. The view is simply spectacular, so much so that instead of going out to dinner every night like we would normally do while on vacation, we got take out, or cooked in the kitchen and ate dinner on the patio while watching and listening to the waves. Susan is extremely well organised, and was very helpful instructing us to rent a car instead of taking taxis. The parking at Red Hook can be tricky, but after a few trips you catch on as to where to find spots. If you are looking to book a condo in USVI, stop looking, you have found the place. A Pivotal Pause in Paradise…un-Plugged.

Upon entering the unit in building E (“E” obviously for “escape”), embracing the first impressions of where our next seven days would be spent, it was not the calculated design of a chain hotel, nice but neutral. No, this was a refreshing “This-is-our-home, we-like-it-and-we-hope-you-do-too” welcome. Each prior guest has added a perpetual personality which enhances the collective warmness you can’t help but feel. The joy somehow lingers and adds to the comfort. Initial gaze through the glass doors was both jaw and blood pressure dropping all at the same time. In silence, we sit and examine the rhythm of the sunlight on the teal tapestry unfurled before us. We breathe… We anticipate each new day with the sun’s debut over the floating mountain beyond the bay. We learn from those who are more adept at relaxing and begin to realize that we don’t know what time it is, nor do we care. We wrangle with the tough decisions…Beach? Pool? Snorkel? We choose all of the above. Reflecting back on the question posed to Sue, our gracious host, as to whether a blow dryer should be part of our packed items, her response was, “there are two in the condo”. She allowed me to discover on my own that the ocean breeze was far more suitable stylist. Not having enough of the island’s critters, we took the Ecotour Kayak, Hike and Snorkel trek on Mangrove Lagoon. A brief stop for a hermit crab race then onto snorkeling into the shallow cove, we were delighted by the ease of peeking in on the underwater colonies who tolerated the gawking masked tourists who needed tubes to breathe. How badly they must feel for us! The Twardoski’s guest discount for the New Horizons Dinner Sail did not go idle. Onboarding greetings included a flute of champagne and a shoe removal. Island music mingled with the cadence of the waves, hors d'oeuvres of caviar and salmon and a continuous flow of their signature “Painkiller” libation made for jovial sail mates on our way to St. James cove. The sunset and the starry night sky cooperated fully as the main entrée of Mahi Mahi and Paradise Chicken for about 25 people was beautifully prepared in the small galley, a feat unto itself. A cheesecake chaser finished the meal and we glided on soft waves back to our cove of origin, the Sapphire Beach Marina. Parting the condo, we say “Good Day” because it is not good-bye. We have added to the joy that lingers in this place. Satisfied, we have done our part.

If you are looking to unwind/relax from the typical stresses of the world go no further.

Susan and Mark have a lovely condo in a very prime location on St. Thomas USVI. The ability to walk directly out to the beach from our 1st floor unit was ideal. Additionally, the condo is in one of the quietest complexes of all the resort community located on Sapphire Beach. Our 1 year anniversary trip to St. Thomas was incredible. We both have very high pressure and mentally taxing careers, which this trip was the dose of medicine needed to recalibrate our thoughts to move forward with our lifelong goals and aspirations. Overall, if you are looking to unwind/relax from the typical stresses of the world go no further. Accommodation Highlights: • First and foremost, the owners of this property are refreshingly welcoming. I was 100% at ease, and ready to move forward with the reservation after talking with Susan over the phone. The phone call was very unexpected, but I was confident in our final decision after the brief introductory call. After our commitment was made we received a very useful packet of information about St. Thomas and things to do on the island. • The unit was very clean, and appeared to have been updated/remodeled from initial construction • We always felt safe with a security checkpoint to enter the resort community, in addition to a guard walking the property during the day. The security overall was effective and non-evasive. • There were ample towels/clothes during our week stay. • Electric Grill - We used the electric grill located on the balcony daily, which we were able to cook some exquisite meals during our stay. Location Benefits: • The local grocery store (Food Center) was in close proximity the condo, and also on the way from the STT airport. • Day Say Excursion: ○ The NewHorizon's day-sail, which we highly recommend, is within walking distance to this condo (marina is next to condo complex). • St. John (Cinnamon Bay, Trunk Bay) ○ The ferry from Redhook (St. Thomas) to Cruz Bay (St. John) is within 5 minutes of the Condo ○ Ferry/Wait time to Trunk Bay was about 1 hr, which was well worth the journey. Trunk Bay was our favorite beach. (Top 10 beach in the world per Discover Travel Channel) • Megans Beach Only 15 minutes away. (Top 10 beach in the world per Discover Travel Channel)

In 1933, James Hilton first wrote of a utopian, enchanting, and harmonious place he called Shangri La. No offense to Mr. Hilton, but when he wrote of Shangri La, it is our belief he had never had the privilege of staying at Three Palms at Sapphire Beach. True, we are biased, having rented from Mark and Susan before; and being completely enamored with the care and attention they have put into their little piece of the island. Upon arrival we found the updated, modern and clean condo we have come to expect from Mark and Susan.. Only this time, the oversized bathroom was completely remodeled with one of the most unique stone counters we have ever seen, new window treatments, and a semi stocked refrigerator. As we settled into the fantastic LL Bean bedding, we felt like we were truly at home. One thing I can tell you about this condo is that the sunrise over the ocean will never get old... If the location and view of this condo doesnt make you happy; nothing will. This year we had a group of ten people join our annual pilgrimage to the islands... we had friends in serveral of the first floor E condos, so being nosey and investigating the competition of our condo was a treat we had never had before... Turns out, we were the luckiest of the bunch. We had 5 of the 8 condos on the oceanfront reserved, and only one came close to comparing to Three Palms. Its very clear to see which owners care for and take pride in their condo, and no one seems to care more for their condo than this marvelous couple from New England. Mark and Susan; We thank you from the bottom of our hearts for providing us the opportunity to take up residency in your personal 'Shangri La' ' albeit only for one week a year. You have set the bar higher every year, and yet... we are never let down; EVER !

"Any of the reviews you read here will tell you what a beautiful beach Sapphire is, so I am going to treat that as a given and just review this specific rental E 107. When I first started looking for a place in St. Thomas I had absolutely no intention of splurging for a place directly on the beach, but after seeing this unit on line I just couldn’t get it out of my head. I am so glad that I decided to go for it because it was well worth any additional expense. I had pretty high expectations going in, but this place continually WOWWED me. The first big WOW was when I walked off the patio on to the beach; it was amazingly beautiful. It was so incredible that no how many times I walked out it astounded me over and over again. Being in the E building was like having our own private beach; during the week we vacationed there was never really more than one other couple on the beach at any time, sometimes no one else at all. It was incredible to just walk in and out of our place for a beverage, those forgotten sunglasses, anything at all. How liberating to not have to pack up a bag to go to the beach because the beach is literally on your doorstep. I could even keep an eye out for my husband from my perch on the patio when he snorkeled without me. The other thing that was fantastic is how well stocked this place was, every week must be a bit different based on what has been left behind but other than the items that we brought or purchased on our one and only trip to the grocery store it left nothing to desire. In the unit everything was great: comfy bed, nice towels, spacious bathroom and living area, plenty of nice indoor and outdoor furniture, there was everything you would expect in terms of linen, dishes, pots and pans etc., but I was surprised that they had all the other conveniences such as aluminum foil, saran wrap, baggies, paper / plastic plates, lots of condiments and spices. I have stayed places before where I had to buy or bring my own coffee filters, sugar, salt and pepper, etc.; this place had everything! The most amazing for me was that they even had cinnamon, clove, nutmeg and ginger among their spices which I happen to love on my frozen drinks, so I certainly put the blender to use. As an added bonus when we arrived all 7 ice trays were full and there was an ice bucket full of cubes in the freezer! I really can’t say enough about this place, just please stay away when I want to go back!"

"We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Three Palms. Susan is stupendously helpful and she also makes sure the place is incredibly well equipped for a comfortable stay. The unit itself is very nice, very clean, TV is GREAT, VIEW IS OUT OF THIS WORLD, patio is wonderful, we ate many lunches and dinners out there and it was so nice, the beach is great. The sand on Susan's beach never gets hot like the sand on the beach in front of the other units. The fact that the sand never got hot was great for my kids. The view in front of Susan's building is the best as it is not obstructed by trees, but if you want the trees for shade during your lounging on the beach just a few steps away you can head over to the other beach. Snorkeling is great in front of all the buildings and the diving is great as well. My husband has to walk just a few steps to the boat each morning for his dive boat and they were wonderful! Food is very expensive as Susan warned us; Duffy's is great food and a reasonable price. We also really enjoyed the two tiered pool. It is a lovely pool and the view from the pool is also out of this world. We had such a nice trip. Thank you for everything Susan!!"

"Susan, Just wanted you to now how much we enjoyed our stay in your condo at Sapphire, E-107 last week. The weather was marvelous and E-107 is a delightful home away from home thanks to your touch. We are grateful for your generosity for the fruit basket. It added to our enjoyment throughout the week. Robert's American Grille is also superb. Thanks for the recommendation. Hope to be in touch with you soon for a third return trip to E-107."

This truly was an amazing experience! From waking up to the gorgeous views in the morning to falling asleep with the sounds of the sea at night, my husband and I all around enjoyed ourselves. This condo is equipped with everything you would need – just like a home - we can’t think of one thing we went without - spices, coffee, cream, filters, sugar were included! It’s evident that they went the extra mile with the décor and ammenities – and still offer a very fair price. Susan (owner) arranged our pickup from the airport and a driver for the week - which worked out great. Susan also phoned to check in on us upon arrival to make sure we were comfortable and then again a few days later to ensure we were enjoying our stay – Thanks, Susan! Sapphire’s snorkeling is great – my husband and I would go out each day for 30 min or so and always saw something new. Sam, the concierge for E-107 also gets 5 stars – very informative and helpful. Take a day trip on the ferry to St. John – a wonderful experience. Pretty sure the ferry runs hourly and we had no problem getting on as it wasn’t crowded. We would highly recommend having dinner at Robert's at Elysian (less than 5 minutes by car) and a drink (or two!) at Duffy’s in the parking lot at Red Hook. Cooking dinner at the condo and sitting on their patio is hard to beat – it’s only a step away from the ocean and with truly quiet surroundings. 5 stars to Susan’s condo E-107 for a first time vacation and for sure repeat visits! You won’t regret it!! We cannot wait to go back, in fact, we just booked it for next year!

Just want to let you know we had an awesome time at your condo last week.  The weather was perfect (no rain at all) and it was just a an overall great experience.  After arrival I went to Cost-U-Less and loaded up for the week.  We left some extra foods and kids sand toys in your condo for future guests as well.  The first two days we hung out at Sapphire and enjoyed the beach out front and the beach in front of the dive shop.  My kids loved the shallow pool on top and playing in the sand.  My son and I snorkeled all over the cove in front of your condo.  I jet skied with him and he and my wife went para sailing. The third day we went to Lindquist and loved the beautiful sand beach and sandy bottom of the ocean.  The fourth day we went to Drake's Seat, Mountain Top and Charlotte Amalie for some shopping and hit the condo beach in the afternoon.  The fifth day we took the car ferry to St.. John and went to Trunk Bay, Cinammon Bay sugar mill ruins, Annaberg school ruins, drove up Bordeaux Mountain and did some shopping in Cruz Bay.  The last full day we hit Magens Beach.  I planned St. John and Magens Bay the last two days since there were no cruise ships stopping on St. Thomas those days (glad I did since the crowds were minimal).

Your condo was so convenient, we were so happy with the closeness to the water.  Thirty paces from your patio door and my feet were in the ocean.  I have been all over the Caribbean and Hawaii and never have stayed so close to the water.  We watched the kids play in the sand when we were inside for a rest or drink.  The kids did fine on the pull out bed.

PS - I am sure you know, but after snorkeling the left side near Pettiklip Point, I tried the right side of your condo cove near the rocks that border the marina.  The snorkeling was much better on the right side.  Deeper with crevices and lots more fish.  In fact after snorkeling four beaches on my trip, I think your cove had the best snorkeling.  Just thought I would let you know.

Thanks Again!
